Conner Frankamp’s road to the City League scoring title

In the next hour or so, I am sure I’ll see North senior Conner Frankamp set the City League scoring record. He has 2,196 points, trailing Heights grad Perry Ellis’ 2,231, which was set in 2011-12.
Freshman year – 351 points
Sophomore year – 546 points
Junior year – 744 points
Senior year – 555 points
Total points – 2196 points
There was some confusion, by a point, as to Frankamp’s totals. As North AD Brian Becker went through 4 years of scorebooks, he discovered a game against Carroll on Dec. 9, 2011. The linescore on Frankamp and the total points didn’t add up. So this morning, Becker went through that game film and discovered that Frankamp had the 33 points, as reporter. So the 2,196 point total is correct.
Props out to Becker for taking the time to do it, ensuring the correct total.
As for Frankamp, I’m looking forward to watching him. He’s the type of player with such skills that leave you shaking your head. If you haven’t seen him, there’s one more regular season game, next Thursday, against West. It’s also the last regular season game in this unique and old gym.
