The All-Metro softball team was released today. This is a team that is selected by myself after receiving nominations from coaches in the three counties.
Please remember that you can disagree or agree with my selections, you can analyze the players, but please don’t dog them.

Area soccer, softball and baseball coaches, if you haven’t replied to The Eagle’s All-Metro nominations request, please do so as soon as possible.
For baseball, e-mail celliott@wichitaeagle.com.
For soccer and softball, please e-mail jchadwick@wichitaeagle.com.
Please include stats, they are a help.
OK, so here are my rankings of the teams in the area. Feel free to argue any of my selections. I’m just going off of what I’ve seen and who these team’s have played. (more…)

The softball season is at the midway point (OK, not exactly, but you get my point). So it’s a perfect time to get your thoughts on who should be the All-Metro players and the All-Metro coach. All-Metro comes from a three-county area — Sedgwick, Harvey and Butler.
Please tell me why you think a specific player should be All-Metro. It certainly aids in the discussion.
Three current players were on the 2009 All-Metro team — Sydney Stuever, Andale; Haley McGregor, Independent; and Shelby Davis, Goddard.

We’re at the midpoint of the season (OK, not exactly), so I’m looking for your ideas on who should be on the All-Metro soccer team.
Several players from the 2009 All-Metro team are back, including Kapaun’s Caroline Kastor, Maize’s Miranda Holmes and Heights’ Rebekah Ramstack.

The All-Metro boys and girls basketball teams, chosen by The Wichita Eagle, were released today.
Please remember that these are my choices, and it’s not the fault of the kids that they were chosen — or not chosen. Please do not rip them.
Congrats to all those chosen. You deserved it after your great seasons.

The All-Metro and all-league teams won’t come out for a while, but here we are, a handful of games away from the postseason, so who do you think should be named to area all-league teams? To the All-Metro team (which consists of schools in Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties)?
Make sure to state your case as to why a person should be selected.
Just so you know: The Eagle picks the All-Metro boys and girls teams after soliciting nominations from coaches, but the coaches pick their own all-league teams.
I’d say a given on All-Metro is Heights’ Perry Ellis, but who else? I see Jamez Jones from West has been mentioned. Would you take someone off North? What about Andover Central’s Marshall Miller? Collegiate’s Blake Jablonski? Derby’s Cameron Cornelius or Jabril Richardson? How about Heights’ Evan Wessel?

I’d love to know your thoughts on who should be named to the area All-League teams, as well as who should be named to the All-Metro girls team.
The All-Metro team consists of teams from Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey County. I’d say that a given is Andover Central’s Tiffany Bias.
What about Collegiate’s Ashia Woods? Heights’ Jhasmin Bowen and Kamisha Richard? Andover’s Kylie Cooper? Rose Hill’s Kelsey Webber? Clearwater’s Tricia Vogel? Southeast’s Jamillah Bonner?
Who’s your coach of the year?
